Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT (www.iit.it) is opening a post-doctoral position on organic bio-photonics and, more specifically, on the realization of organic retina implants.
The candidate will work actively within the Artificial Retina project. The activity that he/she will carry out includes fabrication of the prosthesis and their characterization, collaboration with surgeons and neuroscientists in order to coordinate implants in vivo and investigation of new structures for the prosthesis and new approaches to the problem.
This research activity will be carried out at the “Center for Nano Science and Technology” of the Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in Milan (Italy), under the supervision of Guglielmo Lanzani.
Eligible applicants are required to have a PhD in either Chemistry, Physics, Industrial Chemistry, Material Science.
Proven experimental expertise in organic material processing and characterization, including optics and spectroscopy will be required. The candidates to this position will have a track record in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical engineering, Physics engineering, Materials Science and Engineering and will be fluent in English.
