Synthesis and functionalization of inorganic nanoparticles.
My project involves the organic synthesis of water soluble ligands for nanoparticles optimization. These ligands, beside promoting the stability of nanoparticles in aqueous environment, are also used for the specific binding of antibody, scFv and other biological active molecules. Once opportunely functionalized, I manage to test the nanoparticles on cancer cells (ovarian cancer) for specific therapy or sorting.
