The Humanoid and Human Centred Mechatronics Research Line at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), is seeking to appoint a well-motivated outstanding young engineer with early experiences in the design of human-machine interfaces. The work environment will be situated in the development of such interfaces for novel robotic systems addressing the upcoming societal grand challenges.
As the successful candidate you will be actively involved in R&D activities within a young, interdisciplinary and agile team. As part of our international research group, you will have a central role in the development of human-machine interfaces enabling users to intuitively operate and instruct force controlled robotic arms, bi-manipulation systems and hybrid wheeled/legged robot platforms. You will work side-by-side with our control system and mechatronics engineers to make the capabilities of our control algorithms for modular, efficient, flexible and powerful robots accessible to the user. Your work will be deployed on robot hardware platforms being developed in our lab such as the Centauro platform (www.centauro-project.eu/). You will evaluate and refine your work based on field tests and real-world application scenarios.
