The Dynamic Interaction Control Research Line ( ) at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) is seeking to appoint a research fellow on the topic of physical human robot collaboration and exoskeleton control.

The selected candidate will join the interdisciplinary team of the iCub ecosystem.

She/he will work  in the framework of European Project “Advancing Anticipatory Behaviors in Dyadic Human-Robot Collaboration – An.Dy” funded by the European Commission with Grant Agreement n. 731540 ( ) and contribute to the joint laboratory between IIT and Honda Research Institute JP ( ).

Furthermore, he/she will design and implement control algorithms in the context of physical human-robot collaboration and exoskeleton control. For this, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic fellow who will join our team to bring modern robotics control, perception planning techniques to real scenarios of human robot collaboration and exoskeleton control.

Required qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in robotics engineering, computer science, control engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields
  • Good communication skills and ability to cooperate
  • Creative, proactive and collaborative attitude
  • Proficient in English language (written and oral)

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Python or Matlab
  • Experience in control or motion planning of robots
  • Experience in linear and nonlinear control methods for mechanical systems

The successful candidate will be offered a salary commensurate to experience and skills.

Expected start date would be February 2020.
