Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT is looking for one Post-doc focusing on studying the performance of graphene-coated copper cables for low voltage domestic and industrial wiring applications. The work is devoted towards the industrial implementation of graphene-coating of copper cables at high technology readiness levels in the framework of the Future & Emerging Technologies flagship project on graphene and other 2D crystals, Graphene Flagship (http://graphene-flagship.eu/), funded by the European Commission with Grant Agreement n. 881603 for the 2013-2023 period.
The selected candidate will join the group of Dr. Camilla Coletti at the Center for Nanotechnology Innovation@NEST in Pisa (https://www.iit.it/lines/2d-materials-engineering) working in a multidisciplinary environment with access to the lab facilities for: the synthesis of 2D materials by chemical vapor deposition; the characterization of the structural, chemical and electronic properties of 2D materials; cleanroom facilities for device fabrication. He/She will work in strict collaboration with European institutions and companies.
Eligible applicants must have a PhD in Material Science, Engineering, Chemistry or Physics. Preference will be given to candidates with proven expertise in CVD synthesis of graphene. Previous experience in industrial contexts or collaborations with industry will be considered a plus.
