Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT (www.iit.it) is opening a Post doc position in the coating and functionalization of graphene and other 2d crystals in the framework of a commercial project.
The candidate will work on the synthesis/processing of graphene and other 2d crystal inks and their deposition/impregnation in different substrates and integration in polymer matrices and resins. In particular, the focus of the project is the enhancement of the mechanical, electrical, thermal and optical properties of polymer composites.
The selected candidate will join the Graphene Labs of IIT in Genova (www.iit.it/research/lines/graphene-labs) and work in a multidisciplinary environment offering lab facilities for the production of graphene inks and powder, their optical/electrical and morphological characterization, and access to different types of deposition and coating techniques.
Eligible applicants have taken a PhD in Material Science, Chemistry or Physics. Candidates with proven expertise in solution processing and characterization of nanomaterials, as well as in coating technology and polymer composites fabrication and characterization, will be highly considered.
The closing date for applications is January 15, 2017 and applications, including a cover letter, CV and two reference letters should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org quoting “Post doc in coating technology of graphene and other 2d crystal inks – CB 73478” in the subject line.
Please note that this position is contingent on the signature of the relevant Agreement.
IIT was established in 2003 and successfully created a large-scale infrastructure in Genova and a network of 10 state-of-the-art laboratories countrywide with an international staff of about 1100 people from more than 50 countries. IIT's research endeavour focuses on high-tech and innovation, representing the forefront of technology with possible application from medicine to industry, computer science, robotics, life sciences and nano-biotechnologies.
