Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT (www.iit.it) is opening a post-doctoral position on organic and hybrid thermoelectrics, with the aim of studying fundamental properties of highly doped, stable and printable organic and hybrid semiconductors towards efficient printed thermoelectric generators.
The selected candidate will be required to investigate thermoelectric parameters of organic and hybrid conductors, such as thermal and electrical conductivity, as well as Seebeck coefficient, with the aim of rationalizing their interdependence and contribute to the development of highly efficient printed and flexible thermoelectric generators. In particular, stable doping schemes allowing ambient processability of the materials and maximizing the conversion efficiency will be one of the main subjects of study.
Eligible applicants are required to have a PhD in either Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or Engineering (Energy, Physics, Chemistry, Materials, Electronics).
Proven experimental expertise in thermoelectrics will be considered an asset, as well as laboratory skills in solution processing / printing of semiconductors and devices fabrication and characterization. Successful candidates to this position will preferably have a track record in either organic/hybrid thermoelectrics, and/or organic/printed electronics. The successful candidate will be fluent in English.

This research activity will be carried out at the “Center for Nano Science and Technology” of the Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in Milan (Italy), in collaboration with the “Printed and Molecular Electronics” Research Line under the supervision of Dr. Mario Caironi.
