Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT (www.iit.it) is opening a post-doctoral position on organic and hybrid thermoelectrics, with the aim of studying fundamental properties of highly doped, stable and printable organic and hybrid semiconductors towards efficient printed thermoelectric generators.
The selected candidate will be required to investigate thermoelectric parameters of organic and hybrid conductors, such as thermal and electrical conductivity, as well as Seebeck coefficient, with the aim of rationalizing their interdependence and contribute to the development of highly efficient printed and flexible thermoelectric generators. In particular, stable doping schemes allowing ambient processability of the materials and maximizing the conversion efficiency will be one of the main subjects of study.
Eligible applicants are required to have a PhD in either Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or Engineering (Energy, Physics, Chemistry, Materials, Electronics).
Proven experimental expertise in thermoelectrics will be considered an asset, as well as laboratory skills in solution processing / printing of semiconductors and devices fabrication and characterization. Successful candidates to this position will preferably have a track record in either organic/hybrid thermoelectrics, and/or organic/printed electronics. The successful candidate will be fluent in English.
The closing date for applications is March 15, 2017 and applications, including a cover letter, CV and names of two referees should be sent both to firstname.lastname@example.org and to email@example.com quoting “Post doc on organic and hybrid thermoelectrics CB 72864” in the subject line.
Salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience and in line with international standards.
This research activity will be carried out at the “Center for Nano Science and Technology” of the Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in Milan (Italy), in collaboration with the “Printed and Molecular Electronics” Research Line under the supervision of Dr. Mario Caironi.
IIT was established in 2003 and successfully created a large-scale infrastructure in Genova and a network of 10 state-of-the-art laboratories countrywide with an international staff of about 1100 people from more than 50 countries. IIT's research endeavour focuses on high-tech and innovation, representing the forefront of technology with possible application from medicine to industry, computer science, robotics, life sciences and nano-biotechnologies.
In order to comply with Italian law (art. 23 of Privacy Law of the Italian Legislative Decree n. 196/03), the candidate is kindly asked to give his/her consent to allow IIT to process his/her personal data.
