Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT (www.iit.it) is opening a post-doctoral position on time-resolved fluorescence imaging/spectroscopy, with the aim of studying the interaction of nanoparticles with biological cells and in particular their photostimulation capability.
The candidate will be required to investigate the interaction of different nanoparticles (e.g. polymeric) with cells and in particular, their photostimulation capability by exploiting time-resolved optical spectroscopy with emphasis on fluorescence based techniques. The candidate will be also required to develop and improve the integration of imaging and spectroscopy capabilities of the available instrumentations.
This research activity will be carried out at the “Center for Nano Science and Technology” of the Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in Milan (Italy).
Eligible applicants are required to have a PhD in either physics, physical chemistry or a related discipline.
Proven experimental expertise in ultrafast optical spectroscopy and hands-on experience with optical imaging techniques, ultrafast laser technology, time-resolved measurements and handling of biological samples is highly desirable.
Successful candidates to this position will preferably have a track record in ultrafast spectroscopy for biophysical studies. The successful candidate will be fluent in English. Salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience and in line with international standards.
The applications, including a cover letter, CV and names of two referees should be sent to email@example.com quoting “Post-Doctoral position in time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy” in the subject line. Please send your application by June 15th 2017.
IIT was established in 2003 and successfully created a large-scale infrastructure in Genova and a network of 10 state-of-the-art laboratories countrywide with an international staff of about 1100 people from more than 50 countries. IIT's research endeavour focuses on high-tech and innovation, representing the forefront of technology with possible application from medicine to industry, computer science, robotics, life sciences and nano-biotechnologies.
In order to comply with Italian law (art. 23 of Privacy Law of the Italian Legislative Decree n. 196/03), the candidate is kindly asked to give his/her consent to allow IIT to process his/her personal data.
