In particular, the position concerns:
One of the objectives of the IIT Center for Sustainable Futures Technologies (CSFT@Polito) in Torino, directed by Prof. Guido Saracco, is to make a step further in the study of the future generation of sustainable technologies (use of CO2 as feedstock, distributed manufacturing based on renewable sources, new flexible devices for energy storage, ….) to meet the stringent targets established by the COP21 assembly in Paris to mitigate climate change effects.
A good knowledge in the field of in-situ electrochemical characterization of mesoporous materials for energy applications is required.
The candidate should demonstrate good competences in 2D materials like graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides.
Candidates possessing well-documented experience on supercapacitors (especially flexible devices) also integrated with solar light harvesters such as dye-sensitized solar cells will be positively evaluated.
The candidates should have a PhD degree in a relevant discipline such as chemistry, electrochemistry, chemical engineering, materials engineering, etc..
Preferential requirements are a good record of ISI publications well-fitting with the proposed research subject and previous experience in electrochemical characterization in worldwide reputed groups.
A good knowledge of the English language is also required.
We will base the selection on the above criteria, with the aim to cover, as much as possible, the broad range of Materials and Nanotechnologies for Energy Applications.
Interested applicants should send their CVs and names of 2 referees to firstname.lastname@example.org quoting “Post doc Torino CB 72650” in the subject line.
