IIT is currently seeking brilliant and highly motivated applicants to join the Center for Biomolecular Nanotechnologies in Lecce for 2 postdoc positions (33 months duration).
The two winning candidates will be hired in the framework of activities of the “HORIZON 2020” PON I&C 2014-2020 project: “Mechanical Energy harvesting for Internet of Things and Remote Sensing (REM)” (Code: F/050241/03/X32).
The goal of the project is to develop a high-tech system for mechanical energy harvesting through the exhaust flow from an automotive engine for power suppling a chemical sensor and monitoring exhaust emissions. This system will be installed near the gas exhaust and will transmit data to the car control system via wireless protocols. The project needs 2 postdoc researchers skilled in design, microfabrication and characterization of MEMS and electronic devices.
The two positions are titled: “Design, Microfabrication and Characterization of flexible devices for the development of technologies based on mechanical energy harvesting through piezoelectricity for gas exhaust monitoring.”
The candidate must have a master degree in a scientific discipline, preferentially in Engineering or Physics. He/She should have a PhD or an equivalent post-graduation research experience (at least three years) in micro-/nano-technologies and/or sensors.
