Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT (www.iit.it) is opening a postdoctoral position, in the framework of the Future & Emerging Technologies flagship project on graphene and other 2D crystals, Graphene Flagship (http://graphene-flagship.eu/), funded by the European Commission with Grant Agreement n. 785219 for the 2013-2023 period.
A post doc position is currently available to work in the context of the WP3 - Enabling Materials.
The candidate will work on synthesizing and investigating the fundamental properties of atomic-thick tellurium-based transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). Synthesis will be carried on via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and structural, chemical and electronic characterization of the obtained materials will be performed with a number of microscopic and spectroscopic techniques as well as transport measurements. Also, the candidate will develop and investigate van der Waals heterostacks based on these TMDs and other 2d materials.
Eligible applicants hold a PhD degree in Physics, Material Science or equivalent. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in surface science and previous experience with 2D materials is highly regarded.
The selected candidate will join the group of Dr. Camilla Coletti at Center for Nanotechnology Innovation@NEST in Pisa (https://www.iit.it/lines/2d-materials-engineering) in strong collaboration with partners of the Graphene Flagship.
The closing date for applications is May 1, 2018 and applications, including CV and names of two referees should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org quoting “Post Graphene Flagship WP3 – CB 74971” in the subject line.
