Fellow position in Novel Robot Designs - Humanoid and Human Centred Mechatronics Lab - [ Fellow ]

The Humanoid and Human Centred Mechatronics Research Line at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), is seeking to appoint an international well-motivated outstanding fellow with a strong ambition to pursue a research career towards the design and control of humanoid robots for real-world tasks. At the time of the application, the prospected candidate is about to receive a Master’s Degree in engineering or computer science or has already received a corresponding Master’s Degree not more than 6 months ago.


As the successful candidate, you will be actively involved in kick-starting novel research activities in Novel Robot Designs. As part of our research group, you will develop, implement and deploy robot designs that pair efficiency with high performance manipulation as well as soft human-robot interaction skills. You will be part of a development team that seeks to bring novel actuation concepts also to legged robots that can cope with difficult terrains and harsh environments in disaster response scenarios. The work will take place in the development environment and benefit from the technology experience grown over the recent years (WALK-MAN, CENTAURO, COGIMON, TREE).            

 

Requirements: The successful applicant for this area is expected to have:

  • Excellent records and practical experiences in mechanical design.
  • Excellent team working and communication skills
  • Records as well as practical experience in mechanical design.
  • Experiences in robot dynamics and control are welcome.
