We offer a postdoctoral position in Genoa in the Plasmon Nanotechnologies Research Line lead by Dr. Francesco de Angelis at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT).
This is a great opportunity for young talented researchers to investigate a theory of plasmonic, nano-optics, and photonic nanostructures, as well as develop novel optical platforms able to interface biological media providing a deep insight in physico-chemical characterization, as well as the development of innovative plasmonic biosensors.
We are seeking a highly-motivated candidate with a strong background in theoretical calculations and modeling of plasmonic and photonic nanostructures.
In particular, the candidates should hold a Ph.D. in physics, engineering, material science or related disciplines, with a strong experience in theoretical modeling in different topics as: metallic nanoantennas, plasmonic sensing quantum plasmonics, acousto-plasmonics, dielectric nanoantennas, field enhanced spectroscopy and microscopy, near field microscopy.
The theorists should have also an active interest and excellent track record of publications in the field.
Previous experience in modeling platforms (e.g., COMSOL or Lumerical) is expected.
Expertise in nanofabrication will be considered a plus.
The post-doc researcher will be in charge of designing novel optical methods mainly based on nano-plasmonics and devoted to the manipulation of the electro-magnetic field at the nanoscales.
The annual remuneration will be competitive and depending on the experience of the candidate.
