The Functional Neuroimaging Research Line and Genetics of Cognition Research Line, at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), Italy, are seeking a jointly supervised postdoctoral researcher interested in studying the neural basis of connectivity disruption in schizophrenia.

The project, straddling clinical and preclinical research, aims to investigate the determinants of connectivity aberrancies observed in human carriers of 22q11.2 chromosomal microdeletion, a genetic alteration associated with psychosis and developmental deficits. To achieve this goal, we will employ a combined approach linking complex socio-cognitive behavioral outputs in mice modelling the human 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, with whole-brain measurements of functional and structural connectivity via fMRI and viral tracing. The obtained result will be clinically extrapolated to a well-characterized cohort of human 22q11.2 del carriers (Dr. Carrie Bearden, University of California, Los Angeles).

The candidate must have a PhD in Neuroscience, Biotechnology, Statistics, Medicine, Genetics, Bioengineering, Physics or comparable fields, and have published at least one first-author paper.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
