Industrial Designer CB 74886

We are looking to appoint for a fixed term contract highly motivated, outstanding young Industrial Designer with a solid background and minimum 3 years of industrial experience.

Proficiency in designing new product layout and usability, through the development of concepts, mockups and a creative, though pragmatic, attitude are essential. Good knowledge of common manufacturing techniques such as CNC machining, laser cutting, molding, rapid prototyping are required.

Experience in one of the following areas will be considered an asset:

  • Development of electromechanical products
  • Development of medical devices
  • Development of high-tech products

The selected applicant will work on the new product development of a series of medical devices which will be developed in the following three years.

 

Junior Electronic Engineers CB 75653

We are looking to appoint for a fixed term contract skilled and enthusiastic Electronic Engineers with an excellent, well established record in design and development of electronic boards for complex mechatronic systems with highly customised sensing and actuation units. Experience in the design of electronic boards for advanced robots will be an asset.

The ideal candidates should possess an Electronic Engineering degree and be able to demonstrate proficiency in hardware design and testing with a proven portfolio of practical designs and excellent hands-on practical skills.

The successful candidates should have:

  • A good first degree in Electronic Engineering or closely related area.
  • From entry level up to 4 years of experience in electronic design, testing and debugging.
  • A good working knowledge of PCB development tools such as Altium Designer, Orcad etc.
  • Good knowledge of power electronics, motor control and embedded firmware.
  • Good knowledge of embedded microcontrollers (8 to 32 bits) and DSPs.
  • Familiarity in debugging boards and electronic systems (wiring, use of oscilloscopes, multimeter, solder station etc.)
  • Working knowledge of analogue signal conditioning for instrumentation (strain gauges, piezo devices, accelerometers, gyros etc.).
  • Good knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic hardware.
  • Familiarity with European Directives relevant to electrical, electronic and medical devices conformity (EMC, machine, low voltage and medical devices directives), and international (ISO, IEC) and/or Italian standards (CEI, UNI) will be advantageous.
  • Proactive attitude and results-oriented mindset.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills and willingness to integrate in an international research team.
  • A good knowledge of English or ability to attain this is desirable.

Position overview

Specific responsibilities of the job would include the following:

  • Design, optimization and testing of electronic boards for actuation control, signal conditioning, communication and power management.
  • Interact with and evaluate suppliers of custom electronic boards.
  • Generate detailed technical documentation for board production and testing.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanics, software and control) to ensure the successful integration of their designs with the rest of the system

 

Junior Mechanical Engineers CB 75655

We are looking to appoint for a fixed term contract highly motivated, outstanding Junior Mechanical Engineers with a solid background in mechanics and/or robotics with proven experience in hardware and mechanism design and analysis.

The successful candidate should have at least an excellent first degree in mechanical engineering or related areas and proven experience in CAD design and hands-on skills in assembling and testing of mechanical components.

The candidate has to show basic knowledge of design software tools (PTC Creo or equivalent, any other relevant is also welcome) and the ability to interact with workshops, manufacturers and suppliers and to generate detailed technical documentation for 3D/2D assembly and parts manufacturing. Familiarity with laboratory and testing equipment is warmly welcome together with a pro-active mindset and result oriented attitude. Good communication skills are required, with the ability and willingness to integrate within a multidisciplinary international research group.

A good knowledge of English will be useful but the ability to learn is also acceptable.

Experience in one or more of the following areas will be considered a plus:

  • Experience in the robotics industry
  • Experience in the design of miniaturized electromechanical systems
  • Experience in the design of hydraulic systems
  • Design for manufacturing
