The IIT Centre for Translational Neurophysiology, led by Prof. Luciano Fadiga, is looking for 1 post-doc to be involved in the “Physiological mechanisms of interaction and communication” within the Multiscale Brain Communication Research Line.

The position is immediately available and is meant to investigate the physiological mechanisms of interaction and communication. We are presently tackling this research question by a combination of invasive (neurophysiological recordings) and non-invasive (EEG, fMRI and TMS) techniques. Our center disposes of state-of-the-art recording and brain-stimulation facilities. The design of experiments that fully exploit their potential and the analysis of the high-dimensional data sets that they generate pose non-trivial challenges and require a mixture of both ingenuity and technical expertise. We seek a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow with this combination of skills who is willing to help us understanding the neuronal mechanisms of social communication.

The candidate should have a strong scientific and technological background with a PhD in neuroscience, engineering, physics, computational neuroscience, biology or related fields. Experience in neurophysiology as well as programming (Matlab and/or C/C++) and data analysis skills are highly desirable. The ideal candidate should be independent, proactive, suited for collaborative work in a team with senior and junior collaborators, as well as interact with other groups in international networks.

 Salary will be highly competitive and commensurate with qualification and experience.
