The Human-Robot Interfaces and physical Interaction (HRI2) Research Line of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, is seeking a highly motivated, Fellow student (holding a master degree). The successful candidate will work on a project linked to the AMAZON research awards, which includes the following research topics:

-           AI-based task planning and scheduling for multi-robot teams

-           Human-robot collaboration and interaction

-           Human biomechanical modelling

-           Robot interaction control

The HRI2 Lab is known for its cutting-edge research in the areas of human-robot interaction and collaboration, teleoperation, assistive robotics, and the synthesis of human motor behaviour. More information is available at: https://hri.iit.it/

The successful candidate will have a key role in the development of AI-based task-decomposition and allocation in multi-human and robot teams.  


  • Master Degree in robotics/computer science/machine learning or equivalent
  • Competences in robotics or machine learning
  • Experience in lab activities and testing
  • Creative thinking
  • Team player with good oral and written communication skills (English language)
  • Willingness to integrate into a multidisciplinary, dynamic, international research group
  • Highly motivated

Experience and knowledge in the following fields:

  • Control of robotic systems
  • Knowledge and experience with sensors, e.g. position sensors, F/T sensors, accelerometers, etc.
  • Knowledge of control software (e.g. Matlab)
