The Center for Cultural Heritage Technology (CCHT@Ca’Foscari) of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia aims at researching and promoting new technologies for analysis and preservation of Cultural Heritage, both tangible and intangible, expanding and improving current approaches. More broadly, it engages in the field of Digital Humanities by applying digital analysis to the textual and iconographic content of material culture. A strongly interdisciplinarity-oriented infrastructure, the Center combines expertise from computing and material sciences domains, integrating these competencies to foster cutting-edge research.
Cultural Heritage Technologies’ research line aims at fostering interdisciplinary collaborations in frontiers projects that seek to cross the boundaries of traditional research in Cultural heritage, and Digital Humanities at large.
The line supports innovative ideas and approaches that require truly multi- and trans-disciplinary teams. We are looking for new paths in which technology can expand the scope of research in cultural heritage and humanities. To reach our goals, we capitalise on IIT's renowned strengths in 3D digitisation, machine learning, molecular sciences, and nanomaterials.
