2 PHD POSITIONS IN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT AND PROCESS AT THE IIT IN COLLABORATION WITH UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DI NAPOLI FEDERICO II
IIT has established a collaboration with Università degli Studi di Napoli, Federico II, and funds 2 scholarships linked to 2 PhD positions available at the PhD Program in “INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT AND PROCESS ENGINEERING” organized by the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Chimica, dei Materiali e della Produzione Industriale of the University.
Research and training activities are jointly conducted between the University and IIT infrastructures, located at the Center for Advanced Biomaterials for Healthcare, at the Tissue Electronics Research Line, led by its Principal Investigator, Francesca Santoro, and will be organized in the field of bioelectronics and biointerfaces focusing on the engineering of 3D materials for coupling with neuronal cells.
One project focuses on the electrophysiology and signal processing of neuronal cells’ activity while the second project tackles the fundamental cell-material biomolecular interactions at the interface.
Candidates should have a background in electrical engineering, bioengineering and related.
Successful candidates will be part of an exciting and international working environment and will work in brand new laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation.
Excellent communication skills in English, as well as ability to interact effectively with members of the research team, are mandatory.
