Ana Maria Panaite graduated in Chemistry at the University of Basque Country (Spain) in 2014, with a thesis entitled "Synthesis of chiral catalysts based on cinchona alkaloids". She received the Master's degree in Synthetical and Industrial Chemistry, also at the University of Basque Country (Spain) in 2015, with a thesis entitled "Carbolithiation and Heck reaction of 2-halopyridines. Access to pyrrolonaftiridins". She previous worked in Befesa Aluminium (Spain), VITO (Belgium) and IIT (Italy) on projects focused on sustainability and cancer treatment.

Since July 2020, she has a PhD position within HeatNMof H2020-MSCA-ITN-2019 Grant, at the Nanomaterials for Biomedical Applications group at the Italian Institute of Technology.
