Luca Passoni was born in Monza Sempteber the 3rd, 1987. In 2010, after one year spent as exchange student at the Universitetet i Tromsø (Norway), he got a BSc in Physics at the Università di Milano - Bicocca with the thesis "Environmental Radioactivity Measurements for 26Al detection in environmental samples". In 2011 he graduated with merit MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology at the University of Southampton (UK) with the thesis "Hybrid Photovoltaic-Photocatalytic cell for Hydrogen Generation" focusing on photoanodes of titanium dioxide based on tube-in-tube hierarchical nanostrucutres.
In 2012 he worked as fellow student at the Italian Instute of Tecnology (Center for Nano Science and Technology) on self-assembled metal oxides materials for dye sensitized solar cells. His work covered both fabbrication and optoelectronics characterization of the device. Always in 2012 he callaborated with NanoLab of Politecnico di Milano for the realization of ultrahydrofobic and icephobic nanostructured surfaces.
In 2016 he obtains his PhD in Laser Physics, Photonic Devices and Applications at the Physics Departement of Politecnico di Milano. After nearly 5 years in the field on technical and scientific innovation, he is now working in the field of strategy of technology and innovation management.
He is currently working as Innovation Consultant for the creation of innovation ecosystem and for the technology transfer in new businesses.
