Stefano Palagi obtained his M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2009 at the University of Pisa, Italy. In January 2013, he received a Ph.D. in “Innovative Technologies – Biorobotics” at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa, Italy). From February 2013 to January 2014 he was a research fellow at the Center for Micro-BioRobotics@SSSA (Pisa, Italy) of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. Since January 2014, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (Stuttgart, Germany) in the Max Planck Research Group for Micro, Nano, and Molecular Systems. From June 2015, he was also a fellow of the Max Planck ETH Center for Learning Systems. Since May 2018 he is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Micro-BioRobotics@SSSA (Pisa, Italy) of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. His research interests include the development of soft bioinspired robots at small scales, as well as of innovative actuation mechanisms and control schemes for soft robots.
