About

Researcher (Assistant Professor) in Computer Vision and Machine Learning for Cultural Heritage at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT). Stuart's research focus is on Visual Reasoning across Big Data problems with a particular interest in understanding layout and abstract concepts which challenge traditional algorithms. He has worked on Scene understanding, Visual Question and Answering, 3D Reconstruction, Texture Analysis, Social Media classification, Sketch-based Interaction and Retrieval and Domain Adaptation. Stuart became a Researcher following a Postdoctoral position also at IIT working on 3D scene understanding with Dr Alessio Del Bue. Previously Stuart was a Research Associate at University College London (UCL) working with Prof. Tim Weyrich. While at the University of Surrey Stuart completed his PhD and a Postdoctoral position with Dr John Collomosse. Stuart continues to hold an honorary position at UCL to this day and collaborates with researchers across universities and institutes.
