State-of-the-art facilities and expertise drive innovation in hydrogen production, storage, and utilization, CO2 capture and valorization, offshore renewable energy extraction, energy storage, and photocatalysis. A key focus is the characterization of materials and the study of their behavior within developed devices, optimizing configurations and scaling up technologies to transition from the laboratory to industrial applications.
In recent years, the center has significantly expanded its laboratories and upgraded its technological infrastructure, now spanning approximately 5,000 square meters. It has successfully secured regional, national, and European funding—including PNRR investments—to further develop hydrogen and CO₂ research and enhance applied research facilities through the PNRR investment program, Fund for the Creation of an Integrated System of Research and Innovation Infrastructures.
