About

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences (Univ. FEEVALE, 2006), a Master's in Toxicological Biochemistry (UFSM, 2009), and a PhD in Toxicological Biochemistry (UFSM, 2013). During my PhD, I completed a research exchange at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology in Magdeburg, Germany, supported by a DAAD fellowship. I later received a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, conducting research on mechanisms of synaptic plasticity dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease and processes of learning and memory in the Neuroplasticity Research group at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology. I also worked in the Neuromodulation Laboratory (LIN Magdeburg, Germany), where I contributed to projects characterizing new opsins and applying optogenetic stimulation to circuits involved in learning and memory. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa, Italy, where I am exploring the role of neuromodulatory systems in decision-making and neural resource allocation. I am committed to advancing science through innovative approaches that may lead to new therapies for neurological diseases, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life for individuals affected by these conditions."
