For example, in the IIT HR Partner program, each Research Unit and Administrative Directorate is supported by one HR Partner who represents the first point of contact with the Human Capital office, providing support on HR-related matters with an empathic and solution-oriented approach.
More specifically HR partners give advice on:

- Recruiting, selection and onboarding process.
- Creating a positive environment for the success of each team.

In 2022, a chatbot named Wizy was launched on the internal portal of the intranet to assist IIT staff with HR-related queries and concerns. Wizy mimics human language and learns through interactions.
Wizy, which is considered a virtual colleague, speaks both English and Italian, enabling all IIT staff to:
- Ask for information 24/7 and receive real-time responses.
- Have direct access to specific information on various topics such as work contracts, missions, health insurance, taxation, residence permit, pay slip, etc.
- Download and forward documents to HR colleagues.
Wizy is part of IIT's digitalization initiative, designed to elevate the overall experience of individuals at IIT by ensuring efficient and rapid communication.
Our intranet acts as the primary gateway: it facilitates easy retrieval of documents, manuals, policies, procedures, and training resources, streamlining the process for staff to locate the information they need.
The intranet provides information on the IIT community and dedicated events, including workshops, seminars, and updates from the scientific world.
To streamline the exchange of documents and information between staff and the HR support team, IIT has introduced 'You Matter'. This is an employee portal that allows staff to access their documents such as pay stubs (with a guide to understanding them), annual certifications, etc.
Employes can update important information related to bank details and residential address, among other things.
Depending on the contract, IIT offers a private health insurance policy, the costs of which are fully covered by the IIT and it is subject to taxation. In specific cases, the insurance can also be extended to immediate family members.
IIT has workplace accident insurance policy that goes beyond the mandatory one required by law (INAIL) for all its staff.

Our commitment extends to both our Italian and international staff. Moreover, IIT has a dedicated partnership with two tax assistance centers, providing consultants who are available both virtually and in-person at the partner’s offices. These experts are ready to assist IIT staff in completing the annual income tax declaration and navigating complex situations involving tax, social security, and international labor law.
To facilitate the creation of a complementary pension fund fed by its own TFR (severance pay), IIT has multiple agreements with two Pension Funds to facilitate relations between the pension fund and employees, and to ensure transparent investment with good returns.
Participating in conferences, visiting universities and research centers in Italy and around the world, and building networks with other international researchers are essential parts of a scientist's work.
