Purposes and lawfulness of data processing
The purposes of data processing refer to Internet browsing on the Website and to the possible sending of data for request of information by sending e-mails.
The lawfulness of data processing are:
- perform of a contract and/or pre-contractual measures:
- use the Website;
- manage a contact request from your hand;
- provide appropriate technical assistance.
- pursuit a legitimate interest of IIT:
- manage and maintain the Website;
- prevent or detect fraudulent activity or harmful abuse to the Website;
- exercise the rights of IIT, for example the right of defence in court.

Types of data processed
BROWSING DATA
These data may include: IP addresses/domain names of computers used to connect to the Website, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the resources requested, time of the request, method used to submit the request to the server, size of the file obtained in response, numerical code indicating the status of the response from the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the operating system and the user’s IT environment.
These data allow to obtain anonymous statistical information regarding Website use and to verify its correct operation and they are deleted after processing. The data could be used to ascertain liability in case of hypothetical computer crimes against the Website.
DATA PROVIDED BY USER
The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of e-mail to the addresses indicated on the Website involves the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address to reply to information requests, and any other personal data included in the message.

Categories of recipients of personal data
IIT, its Staff duly appointed as persons authorized and Data Processors appointed pursuant art. 28 of GDPR (for management and maintenance of the Website) shall have access to the data. In any case, IIT remains responsible to communicate data to Judicial Authorities, to handle the requests.
Transfer of personal data to extra European Union countries
Data will not be transferred to extra European Union countries. If applicable, IIT will evaluate the impact of the transfers and adopt the adequate guarantees (i.e. Adequacy Decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses).
Processing method and data storage
Informatics and paper assets, following the rules on protection of personal data, will process personal data, including those related to data security, to prevent data loss and not authorized access or use. Personal data acquired to handle request of information/contact will be stored for 12 months from the acquisition. Finally, essential, analytics and profiling (preferences) cookie will be stored for the time indicated in the cookie declaration panel, as described in the Cookie Policy. After the expiring date for cookie subject to consent, at the new first access to the Website, you will request to declare your consent again.
Your rights
We inform you that you can exercise the rights provided by art. 15 et seq. of GDPR sending an e-mail at dpo@iit.it
In particular, you have the right to request access, rectification, limitation, portability and erasure of your personal data, and to object to the data processing. You can also withdrawal your consent at any time for the analytics and profiling (preferences) cookie by the cookie-setting panel (as described in the Cookie Policy).
Finally, you can lodge a complaint with a Supervisory Authority (Autorità Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) if you consider that data processing infringes GDPR.
Nature of the processing and obligation of providing data
Data required are necessary to guarantee the correct usage of the Website, with exception for the installation of analytics and profiling (preferences) cookie, subject to consent from your hand.
Existence of automated decision-making processes in the data process
There is NO type of automated decision-making process, pursuant to Article 22 of the GDPR for the processing of the above data.

IIT processes personal data provided by users through its own Pages of the Social Media Platforms for purposes of scientific research, only to manage the interaction with users (i.e. comments, public posts, etc.) in compliance with the law in force.

What are cookie
Cookie are small files that the Websites visited by users send and store on the device used to access those Websites.
