IIT is not a degree-awarding body, i.e. we are not a University.
Yet, we host > 450 PhD students, who are registered in PhD programmes in collaboration with Italian and international universities; among them, the Affiliated Research Centre (ARC@IIT Learn more about ARC@IIT) where the Open University (UK).
Value of a PhD@IIT
A doctorate is the first step in a research career.
It has to be in the right direction.
Through doctoral projects, and in-house training programmes, IIT directs young researchers to address key societal challenges. In all PhD projects, internationally leading IIT scientists act as primary supervisors and the research is carried out in IIT premises, making use of a first-class research infrastructure.
