Roberta obtained her BSc in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Florence and her MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Padova. During her studies she moved from a cognitive approach to a more biological/molecular one and developed a great interest especially for translational neuroscience. After her graduation, Roberta moved to The Netherlands (Nijmegen) first for a post-graduation internship (6 months) and then for a Research Assistant position (1 year) at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour in the Behavioural Neurogenetics Lab, where she worked on a Parkinson's disease model and on BDNF-treated hippocampal atrophy using different behavioural, molecular and imaging techniques. Roberta is currently pursuing her PhD at the Functional Neuroimaging Laboratory, directed by Dr. Alessandro Gozzi. Her project aims to investigate how causally manipulating synaptic coupling and density affects large-scale functional connectivity in the mouse brain.
