Leonardo Garma received his Masters's degree in Biochemistry at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2010. In October 2010 he officially joined the Biocomputing group at the University of Oulu (Finland), where he started a PhD shortly after. As part of the Biocomputing group, he worked in Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations of proteins and protein-membrane systems. In parallel, he developed his PhD project, entitled "Structural Bioinformatics Tools for the Comparison and Classification of Protein Interactions", for which he developed computational tools for the sequence-independent comparison of three-dimensional protein structures. In 2015 he joined a Masters's program in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Zaragoza. In October 2016 he joined the Bio Engineering Laboratory at the ETH Zürich as an intern, where he worked for 9 months in the analysis of cultured neural networks using High-Density Multi Electrode Arrays (HD-MEAs). After graduating from his PhD and completing his work at the ETH, he joined the Tissue Electronics Laboratory at the IIT Naples as Post-doctoral researcher in October 2017.
