Maria Grazia is a PhD student in Bionanotechnology working in the Nanotechnology for Precision Medicine Laboratory at IIT - Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. Her research activities focus on the development of microfluidic vasculature to study endothelial barrier functions and nanoparticles adhesion/margination to the vessel walls.
Maria Grazia Barbato completed her MSc Degree in Medical Biotechnology and Nanobiotechnology in December 2016. She presented an experimental thesis in Nanofabrications methods and nanoscale analysis for biotech titled “New bio compost: growth of nanostructured protein film on graphene oxide”.
Following that, she started an internship with Prof. Paolo Decuzzi at IIT – GE working on developing polymeric nanoconstructs as new contrast agents for MRI which led her to her current role.
