The human brain is so far acknowledged as the best computer known. It does show excellent properties, such as the ability of highly complex and hierarchical management, input integration, simultaneous computation, emergent properties, structural and functional adjustment “Neuroplasticity”. It is believed that is based on this property the potentiality to develop the superior brain functions. The objective of the Brain Science program is to identify the molecular mechanisms of the neurotransmission and of the synaptic plasticity, from the individual synapsis to the synaptic networks, including brain diseases, and the brain interface with chips. The interconnection force in between two neurons can be improved or depressed, and these changes can take an extremely variable time from milliseconds to years. It is recognised that these are the fundamental mechanisms controlling the flux and data processing of information induced by epigenetic factors and driving the learning and memory process.
