We live in a world of electronics where it becomes increasingly difficult to imagine a single day without the assistance of modern technology. These devices are essential tools of our daily routine. While the continuous increase in electronic devices' production, causes large amounts of electronic waste to be discarded into the environment, this huge amount of waste leads to unfortunate consequences, such as environmental and ecological problems. ''Green electronics'' represent a novel scientific term and an emerging area of research aimed at identifying natural-based compounds and establishing economically efficient routes for producing synthetic materials that have applicability in environmentally safe i.e., biodegradable and/or biocompatible devices. This pillar's goal is to create a path for environmentally friendly electronics and avoid these consequences that happen because of using non-degradable polymers and releasing hazardous chemicals and toxic heavy metals into the environment.
